Grand Prix d’Amérique

The Prix d’Amérique is a horse race taking place on the last Sunday in January at the Vincennes racecourse.

It is one of the three biggest international events with the Eliteloppet in Sweden and the Hambletonian Stakes in the United States.

The race is an International Group race reserved for horses from 4 to 6 years old.

The first edition took place in 1920 and ran over 2500m.

During the Second World War, the Prix d’Amérique never took place. He was resumed on liberation in 1945.

Currently, the race is run over 2700m.

This year, the Grand Prix d’Amérique (celebrating its 100th anniversary) will take place on Sunday January 26, 2020, at the Vincennes racecourse.
