Gallen-Kallela : Myths and nature
From March 11, 2022 until July 25, 2022, the Jacquemart-André museum is honoring the works of the Finnish painter Akseli Gallen-Kallela (1865-1931). Nearly seventy works will be presented there. From private and public collections, including exceptional loans from the Gallen-Kallela Museum in Espoo, Finland.
This time, the exhibition will retrace his entire career, on the theme of nature and the Finnish landscape.
The last major exhibition dedicated to him, in 2012, was organized by the Musée d’Orsay, which allowed the Parisian public to discover his entire career, thus contributing to the dissemination of Finnish art outside its borders.
The exhibition aims to reveal in greater depth the question of man’s relationship with nature.
